Enrolments
The school has a strong partnership with the Maungatapu Kindergarten and the local Hairini and Maungatapu Kohanga Reo. Parents and caregivers are welcome to visit the school prior to their child starting. Dates for kindergarten visits are available from the pre - school centres and the school office. A copy of the birth certificate is required for all pupils enrolling at the school. The record of Immunisation (Plunket Book) will also be required for all New Entrant pupils. Family information, such as emergency contacts and relevant medical information will be recorded at enrolment and will be held in strict confidence.

Maungatapu School operates an Enrolment Scheme to assist the Board of Trustees
to manage the growing school roll. Details of the home zone are available at the school office.

A school uniform was introduced for 2007 and is now compulsory for all pupils. The uniform offers a range of options for winter and summer in the school colours, green and blue, and is available from “Postie Plus” at Fraser Cove. Our pupils are encouraged to take pride in their appearance and grooming at all times and are expected to look after their own gear and clothing. It is helpful if pupils’ clothing and belongings are clearly named so that found property can be returned to its owner.

Jewellery, valuables and toys are not encouraged at school and the school will take no responsibility for items brought to school and mislaid. If special items are required for a particular study, a newsletter providing information will be sent home by the class teacher.
