Whakapā atu, Whakapā mai

Newsletters & Communication

As technology improves our ability to communicate with our wider community is always increasing.  We provide a variety of ways to keep you informed.

Communication

Newsletters are our most important means of communication and are distributed via the children usually every two to three weeks. They will also feature on this website. Sharing sessions between parents and teachers are held in terms 1 and 3. Written pupil reports are issued in term 2 and 4. Dates for these sessions will be circulated once confirmed. The school encourages face to face communication if you have a concern or query. Please feel free to phone and make an appointment with your child’s teacher or the Principal if you have a matter which you would like to discuss. After school times are more appropriate on Thursdays and Fridays for meetings with teachers. Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesday afternoons are reserved for staff and management meetings.

School Newsletter

The school newsletters are sent home via your child. Every child will receive one at the same time and given out by their classroom teacher. Please take the time to read any up coming events, celebrations of our school pupils learning or just general information. These are usually sent out every month.
A copy of the latest school newsletter can be found at the News Hub page.

Classroom Newsletter

The class newsletters are sent home related to your child’s class. Any information related to the class, please contact the classroom teacher.

Sports Newsletter

These are newsletters written by our Sports Coordinator, Lisa Healey, who keeps everyone in the “know” about what sporting events are happening every term.
These can be found on our Sports page.

School Website

Maungatapu School website is another place to access any information via our News Hub.
Here you can find a calendar of upcoming events and a blog showcasing life at school.

Facebook Page

We enjoy sharing celebrations and whole school events through our school Facebook page. Last minute postponements due to inclement weather are often posted here for easy and quick access.

Seesaw

All classes are using the online learning journal ‘Seesaw’ to share students learning with approved family connections.  Quick messages and class announcements can also be shared through this app. To be connected to your child’s Seesaw Learning Journal please email your class teacher.

Email

All teachers have access to email.  Please allow a 24 hour period for them to respond to your email.  Email addresses are the christian name of the staff member followed by @maungatapu.school.nz.  For further details please see our staff page.
